What does the output from FirstEdit look like?

You can send FirstEdit a Word document or plain text.

Word documents

FirstEdit can make changes in the Word documents for you. Then it returns the document with all changes tracked. Anywhere that FirstEdit spotted a possible issue but wasn’t confident enough to make the change itself, it will add a comment. Where it adds a comments, the comment explains what the issue is and what you might consider doing.

Plain text

You can send plain text for correction to FirstEdit through either the web browser or via API. FirstEdit will make the changes directly to your text. If you use the web browser then FirstEdit has a preview screen where you can accept or reject every change before it is applied. The preview screen also shows comments and an explanation of every issue. If you're working with FirstEdit via API then you simply get the updated text and you can retrieve an audit log of the changes it makes.
