Yes. FirstEdit determines what changes (and where to make them) by combining the rules-based approach of PerfectIt with the ability of AI to use context. Then it uses a separate AI model to double check that proposed changes are correct and will not alter meaning. As a result, it can make certain changes automatically whereas PerfectIt requires more human review.
FirstEdit also has some features that PerfectIt does not have:
- It can do light copyediting (fixing spelling and grammar) where the AI has very high confidence that a change is needed.
- It can correct formatting of Word styles where these have been misapplied.
